CCW State Law Comparisons - How To Use (table of contents, next page)
How to Use this Comparison
This comparison establishes seven sections that deal with specific areas of concealed firearm laws. In order to evaluate a states concealed firearm law, first go to that particular section.
Each section gives a brief description of what was reviewed and how points were assessed for use in the comparative strictness valuation.
Detailed information is contained in the tables included in the end of each section. In general, the specific area of the law is listed to the left with the state listed above. Dark blocks are considered strict and are given 2 points; medium blocks are generally allow some variation and are given 1 point; white blocks or empty blocks are not covered by the applicable state law and are awarded 0 points. The states comparative strictness point total for that section is then totaled at the bottom of the column.
The tables for each section are arranged in descending order from high comparative strictness value to low comparative strictness value.
Any specific notations are included at the bottom of the tables.
